NEW YORK - Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber are the victims of a blackmail plot involving a provocative photo of the fashion icon’s 8-year-old daughter as leverage.
German model Edis Kayalar was charged yesterday with trying to extort 100,000 dollars from Crawford and Gerber, reports The New York Daily News.
His devious plan backfired when the star couple went to the FBI.
“Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford intend to pursue any and all available legal action against anyone who aids the perpetrator in the distribution or sale of the photograph of their daughter,” the power couple’s spokeswoman said in a statement.
In July, Kayalar, 26, contacted Crawford and Gerber, and claimed he had a “sexy photograph” of their then-7-year-old daughter Kaia “in revealing clothing, bound to a chair and gagged,” authorities revealed.
The picture was stolen from the girl’s former nanny, who had been dating Kayalar. (ANI)
