Worker at NY museum in Stiller film had child porn
NEW YORK — A former security manager at a New York City museum featured in the Ben Stiller family film “Night at the Museum” has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.
Daron Kearse was manager of the American Museum of Natural History’s safety and security department when he was arrested last summer.
Prosecutors say Kearse had uploaded six child porn images to a Web site where people share photos and videos and make slideshows. Police searched his Brooklyn home and found CDs and DVDs with videos of minors having sex.
The 41-year-old Kearse pleaded guilty Thursday. He faces two to six years in prison when he’s sentenced in October. He must register as a sex offender.
The Manhattan museum where he worked was the setting for parts of the 2006 movie, in which Stiller plays a night watchman.
