LONDON - The woman accused of having an affair with veteran singer Bruce Springsteen said her husband was lying in order to land a “big money” payout from the superstar.
Arthur Kelly, who is currently battling his divorce with wife Ann, had alleged in papers filed in Monmouth County on March 27 that Springsteen was having a long affair with his wife.
Springsteen’s wife of 17 years Patti Scialfar has also rebuffed Kelly’s allegations.
In legal papers filed at New Jersey court, Ann insists her spouse deliberately chose a celebrity to name in the case in a bid to win a big settlement, reports the Daily Express.
“(Kelly) and his attorney felt there could be ‘big money’ in this… because, true or not, the celebrity would want this to ‘go away,’” the papers claim.
Ann Kelly’s father had also blasted his son-in-law, insisting he and his attorney are “just seeking sensationalism” by naming Springsteen, adding: “They are dredging up mud that doesn’t exist.” (ANI)
