LONDON - Pop star George Michael apparently joked with fellow prisoners and talked footie when he was in jail.

The former Wham singer, 47, was apparently relaxed as he signed autographs and chatted about Arsenal.

A letter from Wandsworth lag N Sahodree to prisoners’ newspaper Inside Time said he came face-to-face with the star.

“When George came by the food server he looked anxious. My colleagues were in awe of him and speechless, but I approached George and to reassure him I said ‘George, my wife is your biggest fan’,” the Sun quoted Sahodree as saying.

“He told me to say ‘Hi’ to her. The next day when George came to the server he looked more relaxed and composed. He was very polite and pleasant,” he wrote.

Michael was jailed for eight weeks in September for driving while unfit through drugs. He was found slumped in his Range Rover after it smashed into a photo store in North London.

He was taken to tough Pentonville, but moved to Highpoint, Suffolk, before being released on October 11. (ANI)
