Maggie Rodriguez Replaced From “The Early Show”

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Sean McManus, president of CBS News and Sports, and David Friedman, “The Early Show” executive producer announced that longtime anchors of “The Early Show” Harry Smith and Maggie Rodriguez will not be seen again on the show from next year. Along with them even the weatherman Dave Price is also replaced, the media outlets reported. However, CBS announced that Chris Wragge, Erica Hill and former “Good Morning America” weekend weather forecaster, Marysol Castro will be the news faces of “The Early Show”. The new anchor of the broadcast will be Jeff Glor.

While announcing the news Sean McManus said that the new team will bring vibrancy, warmth and intelligence that the people of America would love to see. In his statement he mentioned that “The Early Show” is an important element and integral part of CBS news and the network’s priority is to improve the broadcast. The president of CBS News and Sports said that Chris Wragge, Erica Hill, Marysol Castro and Jeff Glor are the terrible combinations of team. Harry Smith, Maggie Rodriguez and Dave Price were unavailable for comments. David Friedman, the executive producer of the show previously in one of his interviews said that the network is not getting the results that they hope to get through “The Early Show”. The executive producer said that the network is looking for the right team.

Harry Smith will reportedly be focusing on “The Evening News”, “Sunday Morning” and “Face The Nation” of CBS. The CBS officials are presently discussing the roles of Maggie Rodriguez and Dave Price on the other shows. Sean McManus said that the network appreciates Harry Smith, Maggie Rodriguez and Dave Price’s contributions on “The Early Show” for years. However, he added that the network is looking forward to the contributions they would continue to make in the other CBS shows.
