LONDON - Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle has created history after her second album stormed the US and UK charts.
The singing sensation has become the first solo artist to have two No 1 albums in UK and in America within 12 months.
She broke the record when new collection ‘The Gift’ was released this week.
It means the 49-year-old spinster will be in the history books with The Monkees and The Beatles - the only other British act to pull off the feat.
“I’ve never felt happier in my life. This is an amazing result and one I never expected,” the Daily Star quoted Susan as saying.
BGT boss Simon Cowell, 51, said, “I’m thrilled for Susan, she has once again defied the odds.”
Susan’s follow-up to monster hit ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ also took top spot in New Zealand and Holland, selling more than a million copies already.
Steve Barnett, from Susan’s label Columbia Records, said, “The overwhelming positive response to Susan’s new album is a powerful testament to her unique talent.”
“She is able to touch the hearts of her fans around the world, who continue to show their loyal support and devotion,” he added.(ANI)
