Resul Pookutty, Boman Irani plan workshops at film festival

PANAJI - Oscar award winner film sound designer and editor Resul Pookutty and Bollywood actor Boman Irani will conduct workshops on sound techniques and comedian roles respectively at the 41st International Film Festival of India (IFFI) beginning here Nov 22, an official said Monday.
Speaking to reporters, S.M. Khan, director of union information and broadcasting ministry’s film festival directorate, said that the two would be interacting with film aficionados at interactive workshops called “Masterclass”.
Resul Pookutty, who has won an Oscar award and national awards, will be conducting a masterclass on Nov 27 on sound recording techniques. The class will be moderated by veteran filmmaker Govind Nihalani, Khan said.
Pookutty won the Oscar last year for the best sound mixing for Danny Boyle’s film “Slumdog Millionaire”.
Khan said Irani, well known for his comic-eccentric roles in recent Bollywood films, would be conducting a masterclass on evolution of comedy in Hindi cinema.
Boman Irani will be conducting his masterclass on Dec 1, which will be moderated by well known journalist Kishwar Desai, Khan said.
The 10-day IFFI will be inaugurated by veteran film maker Yash Chopra.
