Ricky Martin struggled with sexuality as a kid

LONDON - Ricky Martin, who opened up about his homosexuality earlier this year, has revealed that he struggled with his sexuality as a child as well.

He said he was forced to flirt with female fans of his boyband Menudo when he had strong attraction towards men.

The ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’ hitmaker admited hiding his true emotions under wraps was a tough task growing up under the spotlight and he often wrestled with feelings of confusion.

“I think you know, you feel attraction, you feel a chemistry. It’s not like you know you’re in love with a guy, but you feel a chemistry,” the Daily Express quoted Martin as saying on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’

“Obviously that’s not what you’re supposed to be feeling, that’s not right. Your church says it’s wrong. You’re 12 years old and a rock and roll star and you have to do whatever it takes to call the attention of the girls,” he added.

He further explained that, “as an adult, it’s confusing at times, imagine when you’re struggling with all those emotions when you’re 12.” (ANI)
