‘Hobbit’ Movie In New Zealand

WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND (GaeaTimes.com)- John Key, the PM of New Zealand has announced that the Hobbit films will be shot in his country. A deal has been made with the producers of the movie Warner Brothers. The government of New Zealand will offer the film producers monetary incentives worth over $ 20 million by making a change in the film workers law. The PM was involved in talks with key Hollywood executives who expressed their worries that industrial activities could stall the shooting of the upcoming Hobbit films. As it is well known the Hobbit films got infinitely delayed owing to a number of factors and the director had to be changed as well.
The Hobbit movies will now be directed by ace filmmaker Peter Jackson. The PM of New Zealand talked to the media in a press conference where he revealed the heartening news. The PM is pretty upbeat about the issue and he also said that the parliament will pass new laws to ensure that the shooting of the films can take place uninterrupted.
The beautiful Alpine peaks in New Zealand, wilderness and rain forests served as the backdrop for the director’s famous “Lord of the Rings” movie trilogy. The economy in the country will get a boost if the film Hobbit is shot and tourists flock to the places. In fact a lot of tourists come to New Zealand each year for the “Lord of the Rings” tours. The PM also said at the press conference that the deal signed with the studio is a long term alliance that will boost tourism in New Zealand.
