“Parinda” Remake To Star Nicolas Cage?

MUMBAI, INDIA(GaeaTimes.com)- There is some great news for all the die-hard fans Indian fans of Hollywood superstar Nicolas Cage. If recent reports are anything to go by then the “Face Off” star is all set to make his debut in Bollywood as he has been roped in by much acclaimed director Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Rumors has it that the renowned director is gearing up to make the English remake of his hit 1989 flick “Parinda” and Nicolas Cage has been signed to edge one of the pivotal characters in the movie.
According to reports, the Oscar-winning actor has already validated that he would be playing a leading role in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra directed flick that has been titled “Broken Horses” and is remake of “Parinda.” At the same time, it has also come to light that the filming of the movie is scheduled to commence from the beginning of next year while New York and New Mexico has been finalized as the locations where the shooting would be taking place. Apart from Nicolas Cage playing one of the lead role, rumors are also abuzz that Mickey Rourke is another actor who might be seen in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s latest project as the director wants the “Angel Heart” star to edge a leading character in the forthcoming flick.
In the meanwhile, if Nicolas Cage indeed stars in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s English version of “Parinda,” it would not be the first time that a Hollywood actor would be associated with a Bollywood flick. The movie “Teen Patti” which was released earlier this year starred veteran actor Sir Ben Kingsley while he also gained wide acclaim for his role in the 1982 movie “Gandhi.”
