Glastonbury fest axed over Olympics 2012

LONDON - The Glastonbury festival due in 2012 has been cancelled in a bid to stop the event clashing with the Olympic Games to be held in London.
However, the contemporary performing arts festival would go as scheduled in 2011.
But organiser Michael Eavis has revealed that Glastonbury in 2012 will have to be cancelled because it will be too “expensive” to hold the festival at the same time as the Olympics.
“I can see it getting very expensive. So we looked at the timing and thought that a year off seemed sensible,” the Daily Star quoted Eavis as telling The Guardian. (ANI)
