NEW YORK - Actress and singer Hilary Duff has a new role these days - that of a romance novelist.
Duff is promoting her latest venture ‘Elixir’ at Borders Books and Music at Columbus Circle bookstore.
The “Lizzie McGuire” actress, who recently appeared on “Gossip Girl,” has been out promoting the novel with a media tour, according to PerezHilton.com, reports the New York Daily News.
The book, written with Elise Allen and aimed at young adults, focuses on a young photojournalist, Clea Raymond, who’s job takes her around the globe.
But after her father, a prominent surgeon, disappears during a humanitarian mission, Raymond’s photos start changing and begin to focus on images of a strange man she’s never encountered. The book weaves mystery, a dangerous love circle and a powerful secret into the plot, according to Amazon.com.
A review of the book on HollywoodCrush.mtv.com noted, “Think of it as ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ starring a much-more-grounded version of Serena van der Woodsen.”
When asked if the book might ever be adapted to the big screen, the reviewer replied in affirmation, “Because a novel this good is just begging for a big-screen adaptation. After gulping up ‘Elixir,’ I’m ready for another dose.” (ANI)
