Russell Brand free to marry Katy Perry after escaping punishment

LONDON - Russell Brand is now free to marry his girlfriend Katy Perry as he will escape further punishment over his recent airport arrest in Los Angeles.

It had been feared the ‘Get Him To The Greek’ star’s scuffle with a photographer last month would play havoc with the couple’s October wedding plans.

He was charged with battery after lashing out at a photographer who’d allegedly attempted to take an up-skirt snap of Katy.

Officials reviewing the incident had threatened to revoke Russell’s visa over the bust-up.

However, LA City Attorney’s Office spokesman Frank Mateljan has revealed Russell will be let off the hook - but only if he and the snapper in question attend a court-ordered ticking off from a judge.

“This is the only action as of now,” the Sun quoted Mateljan as saying.

“Based on the info, it has been determined that this is the most appropriate action at this time,” added Mateljan. (ANI)
