Rajnikanth- Aishwarya starrer ‘Robot’ gets tremendous opening in Chennai

CHENNAI - The much-awaited movie ‘Robot’ starring Tamil superstar Rajnikanth and Bollywood actor and former beauty queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan that released on Friday got a tremendous response in Tamil Nadu’s Chennai city.
It has been reported that tickets for the movie ‘Endhiran’ (Robot) are booked well in advance for shows in the forthcoming week.
“The movie is housefull till next Tuesday. Many localities have come; for the first time we are seeing lots and lots of crowd. Our sitting capacity is 1473; all the auditoriums are full completely; we are not holding a single ticket in our theatre nice to see this, thanks to all the viewers. I hope ‘Endhiran’ will be a great success,” said Joyson, the owner of a cinema hall.
The local radio channels have also organized a contest and the winner will get to perform the holy ritual of bathing the life-size portrait of Rajnikanth with milk.
“We did a ‘Biggest fan of Rajni (Rajnikanth) contest’ in Chennai, so the winner of the contest will get to do the Pal Abhishekam (holy ritual of Hindus) then we had kapooram (burnt camphor) and we burnt crackers,” said Archana, a distributor.
“The show started at 5.45, capacity was 1475 seats, and completely house full, they were clapping at every scene. Actually thing is that you have to see the movie again, you can’t listen to any dialogues in the first time you see it, so response has been simply amazing,” she added.
Another attraction in the movie is the pairing of Rajnikanth with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the first time.
The movie, according to the producers, SUN Pictures, is targeted to earn rupees 60 million, but critics have estimated the business to go up till only rupees 29 millions.
“The movie is amazing. I could really see the effort of director Shankar, superstar (Rajnikanth) and Aishwarya. Everybody has done an excellent work; I think the imaginary creations by Shankar are absolutely great,” said Anand, a fan.
“I have not seen any movie in English, which has come in Tamil now. Please enjoy, everybody should watch this movie. Don’t miss it,” he added.
‘Robot’ features Rajnikanth, as a scientist, who creates a robot with artificial intelligence. (ANI)
