KRISTEN STEWART has confirmed top moviemakers GUS VAN SANT, SOFIA COPPOLA and BILL CONDON have all been approached to direct the fourth TWILIGHT installment.
Speculation over who would helm the final movie in the hit franchise reached fever pitch after The Twilight Saga: New Moon director Chris Weitz revealed he would not return.
Actor Robert Pattinson hinted he would love Milk filmmaker Van Sant to shoot the movie, as filming would take place in Portland, Oregon - where the director has lived and worked for several years.
Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly claimed Lost in Translation’s Coppola and Dreamgirls director Condon had also been approached to take control of the movie.
Now, Stewart - who plays heroine Bella Swan in the hit vampire series - has revealed all three are currently contenders for the role.
She tells MTV.com, “I’m glad that’s out and about (news of potential filmmakers). I didn’t know that was something that people knew. I think it’s awesome. I think it’s so cool that they’re reaching (out to these directors). I think any one of those people would be great.”
