Mccord Happy With Hard-hitting 90210 Rape Storyline

90210 star ANNALYNNE MCCORD hopes her new rape storyline on the hit show helps teen victims fully understand what they need to do if they’re sexually assaulted.
The actress insists the show’s writers don’t sugar-coat the harsh realities of what a rape victim has to go through - and there’s no simple happy ending to the story.
At the end of the last season on the show, her character, Naomi, is molested by a teacher, and the new episodes currently airing in America pick up as she begins her fight for justice.
McCord tells news show Access Hollywood Live, “This is an issue that kids deal with… They need to speak out.
“What you see is Naomi doesn’t wanna speak out for herself, but sees that it might happen to a friend and violators tend to be repeat offenders.
“I really like the fact that the writers have really depicted it in a very real way and it wasn’t just like, ‘She goes and she tells and everything works out perfectly…’ She goes in the first episode and reports it (sic) and then the police officer is like, ‘Look, I think you should come forward but I’m gonna tell you, this is not gonna be fun. They’re gonna drag you through the mud, they’re gonna try and slander you.’
“It’s a very honest depiction, in my opinion, of situations that can take place.”
