SYDNEY (GaeaTimes.com) — This year the winner of Australia’s Next Top Model is Amanda Ware. The 18 year old was crowned the winner of the glorious award in front of a live audience during the show’s finale at Sydney’s Luna Park.
Instead of the judges choice, the winner was decided by the audience vote. Viewers were given the opportunity to vote for their favorites through Foxtel remote control or SMS for a week.
Apart from a mistake by host Sarah Murdoch during the announcement of the winner, the finale was a big hit. Murdoch declared Kelsey Martinovich as the winner, but later corrected it by replacing her name by Amanda Ware.
“I’m so sorry, oh my god, I don’t know what to say. This is a complete accident, I’m so sorry.
“It was fed to me wrong.
“This is what happens when you have live TV folks, this is insane, insane, insane.”
Murdoch said while shaking her head over the mistake.
The competition saw neck and neck fight among the three finalists throughout the last weeks. Judges sent all of them to the finale after as failed to decide who to eliminate.
Around 7000 votes were registered in the name of the three finalists. But finally Ware had the last smile.
As the winner of Australia’s Next Top, Amanda Ware receives some lavish prizes that include an eight-page spread in women’s magazine Harpers Bazaar, a contract with Priscilla’s modelling agency, a $25,000 Levi’s campaign, a $20,000 cash prize, a Ford Fiesta Zetec and a trip to New York.
