Lal Signs Roopa Manjari For Tournament

September 27, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Director Lal has signed Tamil actress Roopa Manjari in the lead role of his next Malayalam film titled Tournament, which is a youth based project.

Lal has started working on it just after finishing the sequel of his popular Haringar film. The director was in search of a perfect face, who can play the female lead in his movie. Lal considered many other young faces but finally zeroed in on Roopa Manjari, who debuted with the Tamil movie Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru in 2009. Since then, she has become a known face in Kollywood.

Tournament deals with eight boys and a girl. Lal is planning to release this movie during Chrismas. The shooting for the movie has started this month and it is more or less like a road movie. Lal will shoot the movie in Bangalore, Mysore and Gundalpet.

PN Venugopal and Lal are jointly producing Tournament. The music will be composed by Deepak Dev. This is an exception because Alex Paul has been the regular music director of most of the movies by Lal. The lyrics of the songs will be penned down by Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma.

Hopefully, Roopa Manjari becomes able to impress her Malayalam audience same as her Tamil fans!
