MARTIN SCORSESE’s gritty new TV series BOARDWALK EMPIRE is a break-out hit in America - the period piece has been picked up for a second season after just one episode.

The crime drama, starring Steve Buscemi, debuted in America on Sunday (19Sep10) to rave reviews and big ratings, and bosses at cable channel HBO are already hooked on the show.
