Teresa Lewis, First Woman To be Executed by Virginia

New York (GaeaTimes.com) - The final appeal, and last chance of Teresa Lewis’ to be spared, was rejected. She got the death penalty by U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday. But it is being heard that she is still hoping for deliverance from sin and damnation. Teresa Lewis is scheduled to be executed on September 23, 2010, by sufficient injection which causes death.

Lewis says she has found consolation and power in her faith. She is singing the gospel hymns and loves it very much.

She and her stepson’s motive were to collect an amount of $250,000 life insurance policy. Lewis gave herself and her daughter who is 16 years old for sex to those two men who committed the murder. She provided money to those persons in order to buy the murder weapons. She stood there while her husband was shot. Her husband’s name was Julian Clifton Lewis Jr. He was 51. Lewis searched hastily through her husband’s pockets for money. At that time he was dying.

Lewis would also become the first woman since 1912 to be executed in Virginia. Teresa Lewis, the first scheduled U.S woman to be executed after 2005. A judge set a 23rd Sept as her execution date who is the only woman on Virginia’s death row, on Thursday.

The two gunmen named Rodney Fuller and Matthew Shallenberger, were sentenced to life in prison. In prison, Shallenberger committed suicide in the year 2006. Christie Lynn Bean, Lewis’ daughter, was in prison for five years. She remained silent though she knew about the plan.
