LONDON - Hollywood legends Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro are reportedly in talks to star in violent gangster movie ‘The Irishman”.
The film, to be directed by Martin Scorsese, will be gangster heaven for all mob movie fans. ll four are famous for their previous hit movies about the American Mafia. e Niro and Scorsese, both 67, have been working together on the movie for some time.
It is based on the exploits of real-life gang hitman Frank Sheeran, as chronicled in the book ‘I Heard You Paint Houses’ and will recall the late war veteran’s possible involvement with the slaughter of famous American union boss Jimmy Hoffa.
Pacino, 70, and De Niro starred in gangster movie Heat, as well as cop drama Righteous Kill. On the other hand, Pesci, 67, and De Niro teamed up with Scorsese on classics ‘Goodfellas’, ‘Casino’ and ‘Raging Bull’.
“If they all do team up it will result in a rather exciting mob ensemble. Although De Niro and Pacino’s last film together Righteous Kill was a disappointment to many, this could well make up for that if plans come to fruition,” the Daily Star quoted a Hollywood insider as saying. (ANI)
