National Award Winner Putani Party Is About Children Rights

September 18, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Kannada film ‘Putani Party’ (The kid Gang), which has won the National award for best children film, is about the children rights. The movie was made in a very small budget by a Kannadiga PN Ramachandra, who hails from Mumbai.

The movie is set on a village backdrop and presents the need of the hour for these rural area’s children. It also focuses on the system of Panchayat Raj. It is a seventy five minutes 35 mm cinemascope film.

The filmmaker PN Ramachandra has earlier made short films, documentary and TV show since 1990. He is a commerce graduate from temple town Udupi. Ramachandra has done his post graduation Diploma in Direction and Screenplay and is a writer for Film and TV Institutes of India.

Children’s Film Society India has produced the movie, which was filmed in a village named Honnapura, located near the town of Dharwad in South India. A particular dialect has been used in the movie, which is usually spoken by a few people in that part of India. Local actors have been used in this movie and most of them are newcomers.

Vijaya Prakash has scored music for ‘Putani Party’ and Arunabha Mukerjee has done the editing. The lead actors of the movie are Sharad Anchatgiri, Ranita Jadhav and Gurudut Jodhi.
