Malil, 45, affirmed that he never had an intention to hurt or stab Kendra Beebe. His girlfriend was 38, on that night of the attack in 2008. Malil was also found to have committed an offence with a deadly weapon. Beebe was stabbed at her San Diego County home in August 2008. He was accused of burglary. The actor requested that he should not be charged with crime of all these accusations. He pleaded that he thought his girlfriend to be somebody else who is getting ready to attack him. Malil said that he is sorry and he had no idea that it was Beebs standing there. He was stunned and could not believe that it was him who was responsible for all those injuries.
Malil is best known for his role in the Steve Carell comedy as an electronics store employee. He found her drinking wine with a friend whose name is David Maldonado. Malil said he felt threatening indication by her male friend. He was sure that Maldonado would attack him with a gun and he had to struggle with him badly. He thought that Maldonado was following him to the kitchen. He also added that Maldonado got a gun and was coming after him. Then Malil began to slash and stab. Beebe suddenly shouted “Call 911.” Then he realized that he was actually stabbing her girlfriend and not Maldonado. But Beebe said that Malil stopped after a neighbor came. Malil was accused of using two different knives. Beebe got a puncture in her lungs as a result of the attack. The trial resumes Monday.
