Hurricane Igor reaches Bermuda

New York (GaeaTimes.com) - The hurricane Igor is all set to hit the island nation Bermuda. The storm will come with 120 mph winds blowing strongly. Though winds will stay offshore but they are expected to send large swells towards the coast.
The center of hurricane Igor was located near latitude 22.7 north, longitude 59.8 west. Due to its destructive powers Bermuda Island where it is supposed to hit is under watch by the National Hurricane Center in Miami. The hurricane has been put into category 3.
National Weather Service has issued report on hurricane’s projected path. According to the reports path will bring high seas and swelling to Rhode Island and Massachusetts beach this weekend. A possible high surf warning has been issued to Newport, Block Island, Washington Counties as well as many counties on Cape Cod and the islands.
The Carolinas coast has become very peril some for boating and navigation. The Cast guards have issued a warning to the boaters to be careful for next few days. The Coast guards also warned of rip currents along the South Carolina and Georgia coasts. Wind, tropical storm conditions are possible in Bermuda by late Saturday, with hurricane condition possible on Sunday.
During the next few days surfs and large swells will continue to affect the Puerto Rico, Leeward Islands, Hispaniola and parts of Bahamas Islands during the next several days. The swells will cause fatal surfing conditions in Bermuda during next couple of days which will worsen with the arrival of Igor. Swells will affect the eastern coasts of United States through the weekend and may be for few more days. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening rip currents including surfs.
