Gaga leads VMA nominees with 13, but Kanye looms

Music’s wildest party — on television at least — convened Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. Stars such as Lady Gaga, Ne-Yo and Drake walked a gleaming white carpet as they arrived for the show at the Nokia Theatre.

Gaga drew some of the loudest cheers as she walked the carpet in a Victorian-inspired gown and a mohawk feather headdress atop a long white wig.

Stars also had Kanye West and Taylor Swift on their minds and were curious to see what might happen between the two after last year’s debacle when West marred Swift’s acceptance of the female video award. Both were set to perform on Sunday night’s show.
