WELLINGTON - A replica of the Ghostbusters’ famous car Ecto-1 is all set to go under the hammer at Historics at Brooklands’s auction in Britain.
More than 100,000 dollars have been spent restoring and converting this former ambulance. However, it’s not the car used in the 1984 film.
The 1959 Cadillac was being used for parades in an American church for 20 years. The owner bought it in 2007 and had it shipped to England, where he turned it into a Ghostbusters tribute.
“The car was about to be scrapped when I discovered it and the restoration has been a real labour of love,” Stuff.co.nz quoted the owner as saying.
The auction house says the car with six-metre-long, two-metre-wide wagon could fetch US1, 40,000 dollars. (ANI)
