Kingfisher starts model hunt for 2011 calendar in Mumbai.

MUMBAI - Aspiring models took part in a model hunt here, for a chance to feature in the Kingfisher swimsuit calendar 2011.

Television star Mandira Bedi, along with lensman Atul Kasbekar, who would shoot the entire calendar, have geared up to judge the models.

Kasbekar said girls are now seeing the calendar as a springboard opportunity for aspiring models.

“We had a lot really good case histories, where people have gone into another orbit altogether and the spotlight has fallen upon them. So people now see the calendar as a springboard of opportunity. That is why so many girls are applying,” he said.

Mandira Bedi said she comes every year for the calendar launch and delivers the final product.

“Every year, I come here for the calendar launch and I give the final product, and I know that Atul Kasbekar, after looking at all the girls, selects the final six, eight,10 girls. So it is nice to be a part of the selection process as well,” said Bedi. by Shaikh Sharik (ANI)
