Soon, Nike to unveil shoes that tie themselves!

NEW YORK - Forget the hassle of tying your shoelaces before leaving from home everyday, for Nike is working on a sneaker featuring an “automatic lacing system,” similar to the one featured in ‘Back to the Future Part II’.
Nike has filed documents for its proposed shoes featuring an ‘automatic lacing system.’
The “automatic lacing system provides a set of straps that can be automatically opened and closed to switch between a loosened and tightened position,” the New York Daily News quoted the papers as saying.
The patent was filed in 2009.
An image accompanying the documents reveals what would likely be a high-top sneaker, with straps over the top of the foot, as well as around the ankle.
The straps would automatically tighten or loosen with the press of a button near the heel.
In ‘Back to the Future Part II’, similar shoes - which were adorned with the Nike logo - were among several futuristic clothing items Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) wore in the year 2015. (ANI)
