Actor Jimmy Shergill Turns Producer With A Bilingual Movie

August 23, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Actor Jimmy Shergill has had a good share of his popularity and critical acclaims in Bollywood. He has also earned fame with his latest Punjabi movie titled Mel Kara De Rabba. Basking with this success story, the actor has now decided to take up the producer’s hat.

Shergill got the idea after the great success of the recently released Punjabi movie Mel Kara De Rabba. The actor was quoted saying that he asked the producer of the movie to release 15 prints in Australia but he didn’t. He added that the producer regretted the decision when he came to known that thousand of audience came driving miles to watch the movie. The movie set a new record at the box office in the Punjabi films. It also broke records in Australia and Canada.

Jimmy has almost finished the plans of a Punjabi-Hindi bilingual, which will be his debut as a producer. An official announcement about the director and cast can be expected by the end of this month.

Confirming the news Jimmy said that he is soon going to launch his own film, which will be a bilingual one. The actor, who debuted with the movie Maachis in 1996, said that his first production venture will mainly revolve around Punjab. The Hindi version of the movie is seen as an added bonus.

The new actor turned producer said that he would ensure that the running length and the production values of the movie are controlled. Jimmy will also play the lead role in the movie.
