LONDON - Courteney Cox has admitted that her ‘ego got really bruised’ when she failed to land an Emmy nod during her time on ‘Friends’.

The actress played Monica Geller in the hugely successful comedy, which ran from 1994 to 2004.

During its decade on air, the show won numerous prizes - with all of the cast picking up a nomination in the best comedy performance category apart from Cox.

And she admits her confidence was dealt a blow by the lack of recognition - especially as her female colleagues Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow both walked away with the trophy during the series’ run.

“My ego got really bruised. When everyone did but me, that doesn’t feel good at all,” the Daily Star quoted her as telling Emmy magazine.

“There were certain years I thought, ‘Maybe I have a shot’, like the Monica-Chandler years. But I don’t know how it happens and why. Maybe I wasn’t ready,” she added. (ANI)
