Game, An Unusual And Gruesome Bengali Movie

August 16, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Directors Sudipto Ghatak and Ajay Singh’s recently released Bengali movie Game is said to be one of the most unusual and gruesome movies in the Bengali film industry in Kolkata.
The story of the film revolves around an aged man named Peter, who is a loner. The man tries to commit suicide several times when he comes to know that he has cancer. But, he fails to do so every time. He also turns psychotic due to his old age.
In the hospital, Peter overhears some people plotting a murder plan to kill someone’s wife. Then he wants to teach a lesson to these people who do not value life. He then plans a ‘game’ to play on each of the team involved in the murder plan. He is the one who makes rules for the game and instructs these people how to play it.
Veteran actor Victor Banerjee plays the role of Peter Mukherjee. Renowned Bengali actor Sabyasachi Chakraborty plays the role a CBI officer named Rik Roy, who is the investigating officer in the movie. Actress Paoli Dam will be seen in the role of junior CBI officer and Sohini Pal essays the role of Dr. Tina.
Music director Kundan Saha has composed music for the movie, which has lyrics by Goutam-Susmit and Rajib. Cinematography is done by T. A. Bhaskar and Atish Dey Sarkar has done the editing of the movie.
The content of the movie makes it the most unusual in the Bengali film industry. The first scene shows a man with blood all over the body, who is chained and nailed to a table. Peter is playing a game with this man. It is like a psychotic killer kind of movie with lots of violence.
