NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- The “American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino was hospitalized on Monday night for a drug overdose. The singer was accused of having an affair with a married man Antwuan Cook early this week. Paula Cook, the wife of Antwuan Cook also alleged her of recording their sexual encounters and she said that she has the possession Fantasia sextapes. Media reports that this allegations may have resulted in so much mental pressure for the singer that she took an overdose of aspirin and sleep aid. Her manager Brian Dickens said yesterday that the winner was “overwhelmed” by the lawsuit and the media attention.

Fantasia Barrino’s father said that the singer’s condition is not life threatening and she is doing fine now. Her father Joseph Barrino said that the singer is stable now and will be released from the hospital soon. Her father added that this incident is not the hardest thing his daughter has endured in her life. Fantasia Barrino’s manager said that the overdose was the accidental result of taking aspirin and sleeping medicines while she was exhausted and dehydrated.

Fantasia Barrino’s manager Brian Dickens said that the “American Idol” winner had a relationship with Antwuan Cook for 11 months as he was not happy with his wife. However, after Paula Cook filed the documents of divorce the singer came to know many incidents that Antwuan Cook did not tell her before. When the truth was revealed, Fantasia Barrino was heartbroken and felt “sorry” for all the pains she may have caused. The manager also added that Fantasia Barrino is a “fighter” and survivor and she will overcome this phase also.
