August 7, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Kamal Haasan, one of the best and versatile actors of Indian cinema, would soon be felicitated by the Kerala Tourism department.
This felicitation would commence during the induction of the Onam week revelry that is to be held at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium on August 22. Apart from the state government, a variety of associations from the Malayalam film industry will also felicitate the actor on his completion of 50 years in cinema.
The evening of celebrations would also feature a host of cultural programmes. The programmes would celebrate Kamal Haasan’s multi-lingual cinematic flexibility and the roles he has played in the films. He has been seen in movies in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The programmes are all directed by eminent filmmaker T.K. Rajeev Kumar.
The event is likely to have six segments and would start with a salutation. A piece of music composed by musician Balabhaskar would be followed by a dance by Shobhana, a skit devoted to the cinematic trip of Kamal Haasan. The mammoth melodious show led by S.P. Balasubramanyam and a percussion company will be another nice segment in the event.
