Walters ‘fully Recovered’ After Heart Surgery

Veteran U.S. newswoman BARBARA WALTERS assured fans she is “fully recovered” from her recent heart surgery during an appearance on THE VIEW on Monday (12Jul10).
The 80 year old underwent an operation in May (10) to replace a faulty heart valve, after announcing news of her condition on the TV talk show.
A representative for Walters confirmed the procedure had been a success and stars including Cameron Diaz and Mike Myers sent messages to the TV host to wish her a speedy recovery.
Walters appeared on The View via videolink on Monday for the first time since the operation, announcing: “I am fully recovered!”
After receiving a standing ovation from the studio audience, she added, “I have to say thank you to my friends and the fans. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
Walters will return to her satellite radio show next week (beg19Jul10) and is expected to make a full return to The View in September (10).
