LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- A&E premiered another detective drama on July 11 with ‘The Glades‘. The show received favorable reviews from the audience and critics alike in spite of the horde of cop dramas on American TV screens this summer. The show deals with the life of Jim Longworth and his efforts to bring about a change in his life. He is seen solving crimes with his sheer intelligence and also balancing his passion for the game of golf with his love life that involves a nurse named Callie.
The trailer of ‘The Glades‘ shows that the show will focus less on the typical premises of the crime scenes and more on the character and their dynamism. the charming protagonist played by Australian actor Matt Passmore is shown to be in love with a nurse who also has a husband in prison and a young son. The audience have received the show well for its dark undertone in spite of the portrayal of the sunny skies of Florida. The trailer also promises the American audience a perfect blend of mystery, drama and romance with the typical crime stories in the background.
Jim Longworth is seen being sent to an exiled after being wrongly accused for sleeping with the wife of his captain. He comes to the fictitious town of Palm Glades in Florida and hopes to bring about more spice into his life. The drama begins to unfold as he discovers the body of a decapitated and unidentifiable woman near the golf course and begins to solve the case. He is shown to be a brilliant homicide detective who is equally difficult to get along with as well. The creator of ‘The Glades‘ is Clifton Campbell and it has been produced by Fox Television Studios.

In The Glades, every character is overly cocky, arrogant and irresponsible, including kids. Who needs to see junk like this on TV. Instead of having the main character tell us how great and perfect he is at his job, let it be obvious by his actions and abilities (it’s called acting the part). I won’t be watching this show. |
