LONDON - With online dating becoming popular day by day, New Yorkers have started hiring virtual dating assistants to write online profiles for them in the hope that it will bring them romance.
The virtual dating assistants write a glowing account of their clients ready to submit to potential suitors for up to 1,000 pounds a month, and they also sift through responses and suggest the best match.
The service, which is aimed at busy professionals, states: “Do you really have the desire or time to spend countless hours sifting through thousands of profiles and sending hundreds of customised messages?”
The E-Cyrano.com service offers an “executive package” costing 260 pounds, with a monthly retainer of 790 pounds.
“Anyone can go to the gym. Those who want the best results work with a personal trainer. [I am] your personal trainer for love,” the Telegraph quoted Evan Marc Katz, founder of E-Cyrano.com, as saying.
Writing coaches advise clients against stating they are romantic, for example, when you can give an anecdote that shows it perfectly. It’s one of the first lessons creative writing classes will teach students: “Show don’t tell”.
For 217 pounds clients get a “two hour, one-on-one in-person discussion about their values, interests, desires, and what you are seeking in a partner”.
For less than 10 pounds you can buy an online photo consultation to find out what a profile picture portrays to love interests.
“I found creating a profile to be the hardest part of the whole online dating process,” Jillyn Snowden, 21, a marketing assistant in New York, said.
“It requires a mix of wit, playfulness, and sincerity that needs to set you apart from the thousands of other candidates begging for attention and affection,” she added. (ANI)
