MUMBAI, INDIA, (GaeaTimes.com)- Another Brazilian enters Bollywood. Bruna Abdulla, a model in Brazil, who had previously appeared in a number of commercials, reality shows and item numbers, but had gone relatively unnoticed, has finally acquired a strong foothold in the Hindi film industry. “I Hate Luv Storys”, the latest from Karan Johar’s production house, is her first big step in Bollywood, feels Bruna Abdulla.
Revelling in the recently acquired success, Bruna Abdulla says that “I Hate Luv Storys” has been a dream come true for her. Little did she know that Mumbai would give her such a big opportunity in such a short span of time. Her only ambition when she put her first step on the ‘land of dreams’ was to be a supermodel. While most models graduate to Bollywood from the modeling world, Bruna Abdulla is in the film world very early on in her career. This surely is an achievement for a newcomer. The 23 year old however says that she was “destined” to be in Bollywood.
The first real problem for the Brazilian model was definitely her lack of knowledge of the language. Especially when Punit Malhotra, the director of “I Hate Luv Storys” initially requested Bruna Abdulla to speak in Hindi for the film. Though it was a little difficult initially, the Brazilian says that she is slowly getting a grip over the dialect and will do much better in her future assignments.
Bruna Abdulla’s first brush with Bollywood was the ‘Rehem Karen’ item song for the film “Cash”. One can also recall her face on Channel V where Bruna Abdulla was the anchor of the program “India’s Hottest”.
