Piers Morgan Weds

Revered British journalist/broadcaster-turned-U.S. talent show judge PIERS MORGAN has wed in London.

The America’s Got Talent star exchanged vows with columnist Celia Walden on Thursday (24Jun10).

Morgan proposed to Walden in December (09). The couple has been dating for four years.

The quiet ceremony falls on a very happy week for Morgan - he has also won a public battle with Paul McCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills, after she accused him of berating her in his British newspaper column.

The former model lodged an official objection with Britain’s Press Complaints Commission (PCC) about an article which Morgan wrote for the Mail on Sunday in March (10), headlined ‘The 100 British celebrities who really matter’.

Mills, who was named as number 100 on the list, objected to Morgan’s claim that she is the writer of “nothing but bleating letters of complaint to newspapers and divorce lawyers”.

She also complained about the description of his “eternal shame” of having introduced the charity campaigner to her famous former husband.

The America’s Got Talent judge has long claimed to have been responsible for sparking the romance between Mills and McCartney at a charity event - but in Mills’ complaint, she called the story “inaccurate”.

Executives at the PCC ruled in Morgan’s favour, insisting the former newspaper boss did not breach the Editors’ Code of Practice.
