Live Nation Under Department of Justice Observation

It was told by the officials of the Department of Justice that similar to Live Nation they have put several other music companies and concert promoters under observation. The Department of Justice is of the opinion that companies like Live Nation take undue advantage of the merger deals and indulge in negative publicity for their own personal gains.
The merger came into force in the month of January which lead to the formation of Live Nation Entertainment and established it’s sole rights in promoting concerts and managing the ticket bookings for the same. As a matter of fact Ticketmaster sells huge number of tickets for major concerts being held all around the year. Out of these concerts, most of them are promoted by Live Nation. Although major independent music promoters have been listed to fall under the observation procedure, many are of the opinion that such a procedure has very less chance to stem any rot in the system. As per the current stands, Live Nation has already witnessed a slow start in the current summer season as many performers have called off their musical tours for the season. This includes both Christina Aguilera as well as “U2″ who went ahead to change their summer musical tour plans. Live Nation has already declared that there shall be no service charges for any tickets purchased in the month of June.
