Cynthia Nixon wants to marry her girlfriend

LONDON - “Sex and the City” star Cynthia Nixon is desperate to marry her lesbian lover Christine Marinoni in her hometown New York and has requested lawmakers in in the city to prioritise the legalisation of same-sex marriage.
The 44-year-old has been engaged to education activist Marinoni for one year and she admits her dream wedding would take place in the New York, reports express.co.uk.
However, Nixon says that if they are left with no other option, they will get married in some other state.
“We’re not going to wait forever for New York, we’re trying to get New York to get its act together but if we have to we’ll go somewhere else. But ideally we’d like to do it at home,” said Nixon.
Nixon announced her engagement at a gay rights rally in New York in 2009, though a bill to legalise same-sex marriage in New York was rejected by the State Senate in December.
