LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- British actress Charlotte Lewis created quite a buzz on Friday when she revealed in a news conference that she was sexually assaulted by Oscar award-winning director Roman Polanski when she just 16 years of age. The press conference was arranged in the office of celebrity attorney Gloria Allred in Los Angeles yesterday in which the actress revealed intrinsic details of the harrowing experience that she had to go through when she was just a teenager.

Charlotte Lewis told news sources during the news conference that the renowned director forced himself on her in his Paris apartment way back in the year 1982. The allegations put forward by the British actress come as the latest developments in Roman Polanski’s fight against returning him to United States with regard to the sentencing for having an unlawful sex with a minor 13 year old girl almost thirty years earlier. At present, the director has been put under house arrest in Switzerland. Although uncertainty prevails over the extradition of the noted director to United States, legal experts have pointed out that in case the sentencing actually commences after his return to U.S., prosecutors might use Charlotte Lewis‘ testimony in the case.

Following the revelations made by Charlotte Lewis, the attorneys of Roman Polanski have released a statement in which it has been divulged that they do not have much information about the news conference that was held in Gloria Allred’s office. Despite the fact that Charlotte Lewis has revealed being sexually abused publicly, a French Justice Ministry duty officer said late Friday that he was not aware of any kind of complaint filed by the actress in the case.
