Croatian rock promoters have assured METALLICA fans the band’s upcoming Zagreb show will go on despite an outbreak of leptospirosis at the horse farm site.
Almost 60 horses have been quarantined following the discovery of the bacterial disease, also known as Weil syndrome, which is usually spread from rats to animals.
According to Blabbermouth.net, the disease can cause miscarriages, kidney inflammation and possibly death if passed to humans.
The news comes just days before 30,000 Metallica fans are set to hit the site of the outbreak (16May10) - to see Metallica in concert.
But promoter Vladimir Ivankovic has assured fans coming to the concert that the show will go on.
He says, “The (quarantined) horses will not come into contact with the audience, and during the last 10 days they did not even walk around the area where the audience will be.”
