Sharatchandrans documentaries to be screened

May 08, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Late director C Sharatchandran’s documentaries will be screened at the Kerala Sahitya Akademi in Thrissur today. It is being organized by the Vibgyor Film Collective, Navachitra, Keraleeyam, Poura Munnettam and the Thrissur Chalachitra Kendram.
Kanavu, Bhoomikku Vendiyulla Avasana Bali, Ningalude Viswasthan John, Chaliyar: Bakki Pathram, Oru Mazhuvinte Dooram Maathram and Aayiram Dinangalum Oru Swapnavum will be the documentaries that will be screened at the event.
Sharatchandran passed away on March 31 after falling from a train near Nellai railway station. According to the police, he had fallen from the Guruvayur-Egmore-Chennai train, which was running packed with passengers, accidentally.
He was an esteemed environmentalist. The documentary he made on the Plachimada agitation was even considered for National Award. His documentaries are very popular with the public.
