Khusboo Case Dismissed

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Supreme Court of India’s verdict on Wednesday, in favor ofKhusboo with regard to her comments about pre-marital sex, has come as a major relief to the much acclaimed South Indian actress. A Supreme Court bench comprising of Chief Justice K.G Balakrishnan and Justice B.S Chauhan annulled all 22 cases that had been registered against the renowned actress for making the remarks in favor of pre-marital sex in the year 2005, which has sparked widespread controversy.
Khusboo, whose real name is Khusboo Sundar, has attracted the ire of many political parties when she stated that it was fine for girls to indulge in pre-marital sex as long as they are taking proper protection. The 39 year old Tamil actress further went on to say that an educated man should not expect that his wife or girlfriend would be a virgin. Owing to these comments, which were made while giving an interview for AIDS awareness, the actress had received extensive criticisms from various quarters while legal action was also taken against Khusboo for making the controversial remarks. However, the Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed all the cases in this regard and reiterated that Khusboo’s comments about pre-marital sex were her personal views and the constitution of India gave her the right to express her thoughts.
While reacting to the verdict of the apex court, Khusboo revealed that she was relaxed and relieved after hearing the decision of the Supreme Court. The actress who is presently in London further went on to say that she believed in what she said and the verdict of the apex court had just reaffirmed her faith.
