Flaming Lips Axe Festival Appearances As Drozd Is Hospitalised

THE FLAMING LIPS have been forced to scrap a pair of shows in Florida and Tennessee following the hospitalisation of guitarist STEVEN DROZD.

The group was scheduled to perform at SunFest in Florida on Thursday (29Apr10) and at the Memphis in May festival on Saturday (01May10), but both appearances have been cancelled.

Details of Drozd’s illness and his current condition have not been released, but the band’s representatives fear the group will have to postpone a handful of upcoming concerts.
