(GaeaTimes.com)- Keith Elam of the hip-hop band Gang Starr passed away yesterday after fighting against the deadly disease of cancer for more than a year. Keith Elam was more popularly known as ‘Guru’ in the world of rap music. The “Gang Starr Guru” was reported dead on Monday, in a statement issued by his production and business partner Solar.
This is not the first time this year that the world is getting to hear about the rapper’s illnesses. Even last March of this year reports in the media suggested that the “Gang Starr Guru” had suffered a heart attack and was admitted in hospital. He even had to undergo a surgery following the attack. However, Keith Elam was better off at that point of time and it was said that he was in good health after the surgery. This time though “Gang Starr Guru” was not so lucky. He could not escape the deadly fangs of cancer.
In the statement issued after his death, Keith Elam’s friend and partner Solar grieved over the sudden incident and expressed his condolences. It was from the statement that the world got to know about the fact that the rapper was suffering from cancer. The “Gang Starr Guru” himself never came in front of the media reporting on his sickness. Solar explained that Keith Elam considered it his private affair and wanted to fight it out all by himself. That however was not to happen. The disease is lethal and did not spare the Guru.
Keith Elam has produced hits throughout his career, be they while performing in his band till the year 2004 or performing single after that. The world will surely miss him.
