French filmmaker honoured in UAE

Dubai, April 20 (IANS/WAM) French filmmaker Francois Vogel, known for his innovative style of filmmaking, has been honoured by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Renowned for his impressive visuals, Vogel blends traditional filmmaking with digital media and creates a unique movie experience with three dimensional approaches.

The French filmmaker was presented an award Monday at the ongoing Gulf Film Festival organised by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.

“The screening of Vogel’s films generated good response from the audience. His approach to filmmaking with a focus on leveraging digital technology holds great appeal to youngsters making filmmaking more accessible and feasible,” Masoud Amralla Al Ali, festival director, said.

Vogel gained international acclaim with his “You” campaign for HP. His “Picture Book” campaign won him the AdWeek Campaign of the Year award in 2005.
