LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The TV viewers got enchanted by ‘The Wires’ which was made by David Simon earlier and they are looking forward to ‘Treme’ which made its debut on HBO. The premier of the new gritty TV drama took place on April 11 and the series is getting rave reviews already. The series deals with the music oriented New Orleans neighborhood. The city which became a mess after being hit by Hurricane Katrina is shown limping back to normalcy slowly and it is the sheer will power of its people and culture of the city that helps them in the struggle. The first season of the show will have 10 episodes. The theme of the series is quite hard to deal with but David Simon has done justice to it as the critics feel.

‘Treme’ has been getting really good reviews from the critics and they also feel that the premier itself was promising. Some magazines are already saying that it may get slotted for the race to Emmy Awards. The ensemble cast comprising of veteran actors like Khandi Alexander, Wendell Pierce and Steve Zahn have given commendable performances. The city and its spirit has become an integral part of the series.

‘Treme’ has music as an inseparable part of it. Allen Toussaint, a New Orleans jazz icon does a cameo in the drama. As of now, the makers have not announced about the next series but it seems unlikely that such a gripping series will be concluded after airing just 10 episodes. HBO on its parts have kept mum over the issue.
