Hal Holbrook Grief-stricken

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Hal Holbrook, the legendary American actor, born Harold Rowe “Hal” Holbrook, Jr., has some brilliant performances in television, films and stage to his name. Hal Holbrook was married to actress Dixie Carter until her death on Saturday, the 10th of April. He issued a statement to the media saying that he was currently facing a “family tragedy”, urging the media to respect his privacy. Hal Holbrook had been married to Dixie Carter, a star in her own right, since 1984. In the announcement, the actor refused to disclose the cause and location of his wife’s death.

Hal Holbrook met with his wife during the filming of “The Killing of Randy Webster”, marrying her 4 years later. The two have performed together in the popular sitcom “Designing Women” and in films like “That Evening Sun”.

Hal Holbrook put up a beautiful performance in “That Evening Sun” which earned him bunchload of accolades. Abner Meecham, the character portrayed by Hal Holbrook in the film is like no other done by him before, say critics.

Hal Holbrook is one of the members in the advisory board of the The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum and has been acting in the play “Mark Twain Tonight!” since 1954. The actor’s portrayal of the satirical and witty Mark Twain on stage has earned him praise throughout the world. This time Hal Holbrook is supposed to stage his play at the Memorial Auditorium on the 27th of this month. In order to mark 100 years of the death of Mark Twain, the play will also be enacted in Hannibal later this year.

It’s sad to hear the passing of such a wonderful, talented actress as Dixie Carter. I loved all her roles but loved her as Ms. Sugarbaker the most. The stage, TV and just the world will miss her greatly. She is one in a million and will never be forgot. Dixie was a perfect example of what a true lady is suppose to be. God’s Speed Ms. Carter. My heart felt sadness for thoses you have left behind.
