MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- It seems the talented Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is going great guns in her career these days. She has not only shed the flab from her body that gave the detractors the opportunity to crib about her figure but she is also getting plum offers. The actress who started her journey in Bollywood a few years back with ‘Parineeta’ which brought her huge acclaim and popularity is once again getting meatier roles. She has reportedly been offered a role in a movie where she will play Silk Smitha. Silk Smitha was a Tamil actress who became famous for her sensuous image and bold roles in Southern films. She died almost 15 years back.

The film which is going to be a biopic of Southern siren Silk Smitha is named ‘The Dirty Picture’. It is going to be produced by Ekta Kapoor. It is going to be a film that will depict what an actress has to go through in her career and how the stressful life of the actors often lead to isolation, insecurity and even death. Vidya Balan shed her girl next door image after acting in ‘Ishqiya’ which showed her as a seductress with some shades of gray. She also won accolades for her role in ‘Paa’, where she played mother to stalwart actor Amitabh Bachchan.

It is a challenging opportunity for actress Vidya Balan who has silenced her critics both with her acting skills and her revamped figure. She has not confirmed the news of acting in the biopic on Silk Smitha but said that she has been approached.
